Off and Running! Join the C&O Canal Virtual Challenge

Our Summer of John Film Fundraising Campaign is off and running. We’re thrilled to announce that - with your help - we raised $9,667 in donations so far! We’re on Facebook and Instagram now, so please keep the momentum going by following, liking, sharing and basically spreading the word - we still have a marathon to go to reach our goal of $50,000!

Coming up next, the Summer of John C&O Canal Virtual Challenge recognizes the extraordinary life of John Godinet, a man whose life was filled with joy, even throughout his battle with ALS, to which he succumbed in May 2021.

John was active AND giving throughout his life. We can't think of a better way that the greater community could honor his memory and mark the one-year anniversary of his passing than by taking part in physical activity and spreading random acts of kindness (heretofore referred to as Random Acts of John-ness) en-masse this summer.  

From June to September, you can participate in a Virtual Run of the C&O Canal as a lone athlete or gather your friends, family, and/or co-workers to form a team to tackle the 184.5-mile challenge!
